Experience WOMAD, ‘World of Music Arts and Dance’- a festival bringing artists from across the globe to share their music, arts and dance with WOMAD audiences. The king of soul, Solomon Burke, the long awaited Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan and an Ethiopian extravaganza with both Dub Colossus and the Ethiopiques are just a few joining us at WOMAD 2009. Learn about the artist's inspirations, cultures and instruments in workshops. Watch them prepare and cook their favourite dish from their homeland at the Taste The World stage, before sampling the finished product and don'’t be surprised to see them burst into spontaneous song and dance at anytime. It is not just adults who can get involved in such activities, Children also have a weekend filled with exciting activities. From painting and whittling instruments out of wood, to making costumes to wear at the children’s celebratory procession which will wind its way through the site, WOMAD, as an all encompassing festival, is eager to inspire and excite everyone who comes.
